Funding news

  • Kive (Stockholm, smart asset platform for creators): $7M in a seed funding round led by Heartcore, with participation from previous investors Creandum and EQT Ventures as well as angel investors such as Des Traynor and Sabba Keynejad (English).
  • Streamify (Östersund, live video shopping platform): SEK4.4M (€400K, $390K) through a rights issue, which was subscribed by 73.6% (Swedish, machine translation).

News from Swedish startups, the tech sector and VCs

  • Nona is a new startup from Stockholm that during the past 5 years has been developing a new personal health tracking app, to be launched this fall. The company was founded and funded by serial entrepreneur Fredrik Sidfalk (Swedish / Breakit paywall).
  • Nicely timed with an appearance at the TV-show Draknästet, Helsingborg-based Della8 launched its online solution for facilitating and managing collective ownership of larger physical assets (Swedish, machine translation).
  • Spotscale, Linköping-based developer of high-resolution 3D models for buildings, is developing "the world’s first 3D AI recognition system for concrete structures", together with the Dutch company Kiwa (English).
  • Cinis Fertilizer, Örnsköldsvik-based greentech startup producing "the world’s most environmentally friendly mineral fertilizer through innovative upcycling", plans to go public on Sweden's Nasdaq First North Growth Market (English / PDF, Swedish).
  • 4 startups are joining the SSE Business Lab's incubate program and thus will receive an initial investment of SEK300K each: Chip, Biosphere Intelligence, Nilo and 1-Fits-All. Meanwhile 3 companies are joining the accelerate program: DebtPool, Flok, Guide.in (So far I haven't found working URLs for these 3) (English).
