# Ordo Labs joins Y Combinator to help science labs move faster while staying compliant

[Ordo Labs](https://ordolabs.ai/) is the next Swedish startup to join Y Combinator's fall 2026 batch. The company from Stockholm offers an AI workspace for regulated science.

Founded by Kristina Hoang, Sebastian Apelgren, and Adam Tovatt and first covered in PRO [on January 21](https://www.swedishtechnews.com/swedish-tech-news-pro-jan-21-2026/#news-from-swedish-startups-the-tech-sector-and-vcs), Ordo Labs participated in batch 22 of KTH Innovation Launch, and – as [covered](https://www.swedishtechnews.com/swedish-tech-news-pro-june-22-2026/#news-from-swedish-startups-the-tech-sector-and-vcs) in PRO in June – quietly launched its website a few months ago.

With their product, the three founders want to enable research labs to "move as fast as everything else now does" – while staying compliant with what can be considered some of the strictest rules of any industry. "We're already live in paid pilots with labs in Sweden and abroad. Every scientist says the same thing when they see it: finally", co-founder Kristina Hoang [writes](https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7506231489924358146/).

The Y Combinator (YC) participation comes with the standard $500K in first funding. Additionally, the startup raised an undisclosed amount in angel funding prior to getting accepted into YC, [according to Breakit](https://www.breakit.se/artikel/47425/ordo-labs-ska-fixa-byrakratin-for-lakemedelslabb-antas-till-y-combinator). The money was provided by Wave Ventures, Johannes Schildt, and Ekaterina Gianelli.

Ordo Labs is the third Sweden-based startup that announced joining Y Combinator's fall 2026 batch, following [Halmos Labs](https://halmoslabs.com/) ([previous coverage](https://www.swedishtechnews.com/swedish-startup-halmos-labs-joins-y-combinator-to-build-automated-biotech-r-d/)) and [Rence](https://www.rence.ai/) ([previous coverage](https://www.swedishtechnews.com/the-founders-of-swedish-startup-tandela-join-y-combinator-for-a-second-time-now-with-their-new-product-rence/)). Additionally, [Qokedas](https://qokedas.com/) – founded by three Swedes but seemingly completely based in San Francisco from the start – also was accepted. 

And then there is at least one other participant in the latest batch with a Swedish founder: [Sona8](https://sona8.com/), founded in Berlin by Madeleine Malmsten (also CTO) and two others (first covered in PRO [on September 14](https://www.swedishtechnews.com/swedish-tech-news-pro-sep-14-2026/)).
