# Rebaba, creator of circular battery energy storage systems, closes a $4.6M seed funding round

[Rebaba](https://rebaba.se/), the Stockholm-based creator of circular battery energy storage systems for EV charging infrastructure, residential and commercial buildings, and industry, [today announced](https://rebaba.se/news/rebaba-closes-4-6-million-seed-round) a $4.6M seed funding round, led by France-based VC firm Sistafund.

Among additional investors participating are EIT Urban Mobility, and existing ones such as Rockstart and The Blue Minds Company.

Rebaba was founded in 2023 by Paula Runsten and Felix Kruse. By combining electric vehicle batteries recovered from the market with patent-pending technology, the Swedish startup helps customers to reduce energy costs, avoid grid bottlenecks, strengthen operational resilience, and generate revenue from green energy, whilst establishing a circular battery value chain.   
  
The young company states that it operates commercial deployments across Sweden, and is now taking first steps for a European expansion.

This latest funding follows a SEK5.5M pre-seed round [raised in late 2024](https://data.swedishtechnews.com/funding-details/rebaba/r/hDAD935r6m6nN8).
