  • Blykalla, formerly also "LeadCold" (Stockholm, developer of modular nuclear reactor technology, founded 2013): SEK80M (€7M, $7.3M) in a funding round led by Norrsken Launcher together with Nucleation Capital, with participation from Earth Venture Capital, Farvatn, and several private investors, for the ongoing industrialization of the company's advanced nuclear reactor, the SEALER (Swedish Advanced Lead-cooled Reactor) (English). Back in 2022, Blykalla (under its previous name LeadCold) raised a SEK25M funding round led by Norrsken VC. ➡️ I covered a partial closing of this latest round in the "unannounced funding" section in December last year.
  • Gridly (Helsingborg, content ops platform, founded 2022): SEK28M (€2.4M, $2.6M) in a seed funding round from an undisclosed "top-three global games company", Subvenio Invest, US-based digital media specialist Rendered.VC, and existing investors. In its press release, Gridly touts "over 100 customers", among them "leading games companies such as Rovio, Scopely, and Warner Bros. Games, as well as customers across various verticals including FinTech, MedTech, and SaaS" (English). Gridly was founded by former game developers and serial entrepreneurs Christoffer Nilsson and Mattias Wennerholm, and is a spin-off from the localization and software company LocalizeDirect. In 2020, the company raised a $1.1M funding round led by Entreprenörinvest, for the launch and development of Gridly.
  • Geofy (Stockholm, platform that simplifies the shift to sustainable energy with a fixed-cost subscription model, founded 2023): SEK5M (€430K, $460K) in pre-seed funding led by Giant Ventures, with participation from angel investors Koda Wang, Edward Shenderovich, among others. In conjunction with this funding, Geofy comes out of stealth mode. The company is currently raising a second round. After the initial market introduction in Sweden, Geofy plans the rapid expansion in Europe (English, Swedish / Impact Loop paywall). ➡️ I covered Geofy and the Giant Ventures part of the funding first on November 21, 2023. Back then, the product was pitched as "AI-powered solution for finding the right heat pump". Funding news continue below.
