  • Ironic Biotech (greater Lund area; developer of plant-derived proteins used as ingredients in food or food supplements, that allow iron to be easily absorbed into the blood, founded 2020): €1M ($1.1M) in pre-seed funding led by Nordic Foodtech VC. The company was founded by Nélida Leiva Eriksson, who holds a PhD in protein design and molecular biology (English).
  • AnmiMeds (Stockholm; upcoming medication management system designed for better adherence, founded 2023): undisclosed amount in a grant from Almi Stockholm through their “highly innovative” category fund, co-founder and CEO Anne Fredriksson tells me. She didn't want to reveal the amount, but said that this is the first funding. ℹ️ Company details added on January 25 to the early-stage startup tracker page, and to the Google Sheet's "new startups" list.
  • Done published its own press release on the SEK4.5M funding round which I covered yesterday, based on an article by Breakit. Turns out, this is the same bridge funding round which was already reported in mid December 2023 – so to clear up any possible confusion: Done raised SEK4.5M in a bridge funding round, from previous shareholders such as Almi Invest, as well as RadCap Ventures and Bling Capital. The company did NOT raise two rounds of similar size in December and now.
