Cota Robotics announces €1.92M pre-seed round, to let robots automate repetitive work in stores
Cota Robotics, a Stockholm-based startup which develops a turn-key robot solution to help retail chains automate their stores, announced a €1.92M ($2.2M) pre-seed funding round today.
The funding was led by byFounders, the Nordic VC firm which also co-led Lovable's pre-seed round in 2024. Rethink Ventures and Icebreaker.vc also participated, as did strategic angels such as Fredrik Hjelm, Mattias Miksche, and Kamyar Espahbodi.
A large part of this funding was raised earlier this year. I covered first details in Swedish Tech News PRO in March.
Cota Robotics was founded in late 2025 by Teo Rizvanovic and Kildo Alias, who previously co-founded the drone startup Aerit, and also have wide-ranging operator experience.
When I first mentioned the startup in PRO in December 2025 (while it was in stealth), the expressed goal was to develop "humanoid robotic workers for anyone". since then, the founders have narrowed down the initial scope, to focus on retail first.
A few days ago, Cota Robotics announced its expansion into Finland.
