Mergers & acquisitions

  • The bankruptcy estate of Stockholm-based platform for cashier-less retail Storekey has been acquired by Storekey co-founder Daniel Lundh and the company's former CTO, with the help of undisclosed financial backers. The duo has re-started operations, and says it even signed some new customers (Swedish / Dagligvarunytt paywall, Swedish #2, machine translation). Storekey was declared bankrupt in August 2023.
  • Bemlo (Stockholm, marketplace for short-term staffing of nurses and doctors, founded 2021) is acquiring its Stockholm-based competitor Vivium, which was founded two years before Bemlo. The price was not disclosed (Swedish / Breakit paywall). In August 2022, Bemlo announced a $3.3M seed round from Y Combinator and others. Vivium was founded by Philip Gustavsson, Peter Westerholm, Andreas Jakubowicz, and the venture builder Hidden Dreams. It has raised around SEK18M in total, from Esmaeilzadeh Holding and angel/private investors.
