Here are today's news from Sweden's startup and tech sector, exclusively for you as subscriber of Swedish Tech News PRO.

Mergers & acquisitions

  • The family-owned investment company Gelba is acquiring 10% of existing shares in Byhmgard, a Halmstad-based provider of turn key grid connected photovoltaic, battery and EV charging systems, for around SEK12M. The deal includes an option for the purchase of an additional 10% (Swedish / Di Digital paywall). Byhmgard was founded in 2021 by Christian Byhmer and Rikard Edsgärd-Fog and appears to be mostly (or entirely) bootstrapped. 📊 For 2023, Byhmgard reported net revenue of SEK114.4M, up a remarkable 1260% YoY, and a pre-tax profit of SEK7.6M. I.e., in some regards even a better performance than Swedish competitor Flower.
