Funding news

  • Cooach (Stockholm, Growth as a Service platform for scaleups): SEK12M (€1.1M, $1M) from the founders of Business Reflex (a company that Cooach just acquired), as well as existing investors (Swedish, machine translation).
  • Attini (Stockholm, serverless deployment framework for Infrastructure as Code): SEK4.7M (€430K, $410K) from Icebreaker.vc (Swedish / Breakit paywall).

News from Swedish startups, the tech sector and VCs

  • Clean Motion, Gothenburg-based manufacturer of three-wheeled EVs, will reveal a solar cargo vehicle named EVIG on October 20 (English).
  • PodMe, Stockholm-based subscription service for premium podcasts which one year ago was acquired by Schibsted, has reached the 200,000 paying subscribers milestone (Swedish, machine translation).
  • SeQura, a Spain-based BNPL provider founded by the Swede David Bäckström in 2014 and bootstrapped until the end of 2021, has secured €150M ($144M) in financing (English).
  • Sam Rihani is stepping down as Meta's Country Director for Sweden and Finland after 10 years in this position (English, Swedish).
  • The Baltic angel investor network Fund Fellow Founders plans to invest €20M ($19M) in Swedish startups (Swedish, machine translation).
  • Silicon Valley Bank UK is expanding into Sweden, establishing an office in Stockholm led by Maria Ljungberg. The goal is to "support the needs of Swedish innovation businesses and their investors within the technology and life science sectors" (English, Swedish).
  • Sequoia has hired its 5th partner to be based in Europe, and he has a connection to Sweden: The German Cornelius Menke previously worked in the CFO office at Klarna while studying at the Stockholm School of Economics (English).
