OrbDB, a young AI startup based in Stockholm, today announced the closing of a pre-seed funding round raised from Navigare Ventures, Trio Impact Invest, and KTH Ventures.
The involved parties did not disclose the amount. However, based on data registered with Bolagsverket (sourced via Eivora) and first covered in Swedish Tech News PRO on May 12, the funding amounts to at least SEK15.8M (around €1.4M, $1.7M).
OrbDB was founded by Paris Carbone and Sonia Horchidan as a spin-off from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and develops technology for scaling enterprise automation with mathematically guaranteed AI.
"OrbDB Labs acts as a gatekeeper for AI output", as co-founder Sonia Horchidan puts it in her LinkedIn post announcing the funding.
"Instead of paying for continuous human supervision or accepting unquantified risk, you set the precise error rate your operations can tolerate. Our platform automatically approves work that meets your bar, routes only high-risk edge cases to humans, and maximizes the total volume of work running on autopilot", the OrbDB founder elaborates.
OrbDB was first covered in Swedish Tech News PRO in July 2025.
