The founders of Swedish startup Tandela join Y Combinator for a second time, now with their new product Rence
This news was covered in the daily PRO newsletter on August 19, 2026.
In early 2026, the Swedish startup Tandela was founded, to offer an AI clinical notes tool for dental clinics. Two months ago, the Stockholm-based company was selected for the summer program of the prestigious Y Combinator accelerator.
To support their work of acquiring first customers for Tandela, the four founders
Jesse Feng, Jonas Rosengren, Alex Fooladi, and Frans Paborn built an internal tool. And as it often goes for startups, this tool turned into its own product, now launched publicly as Rence: an AI coach for-in person & field sales.
With Rence, the founders will get to participate in Y Combinator one more time: They just announced on LinkedIn that Rence is joining the fall program.
It's not clear though was this means for Tandela. Several signs point to a full pivot, such as that Tandela's LinkedIn page was rebranded to Rence. I reached out to Tandela co-founder Alex Fooladi and asked, but have not heard back.
