MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS


VXA (Stockholm, AI solution to quickly create and scale ads) has been acquired pre-launch by Swedish music licensing provider for creators Epidemic Sound (Swedish / Di Digital paywall). ➡️ Startup first covered i PRO on April 2025.

Teemyco (Stockholm, virtual office platform) has been acquired by US-based video communication platform SpatialChat (English).

Einride (Stockholm; digital, electric and autonomous shipping technology): $113M in so called "PIPE financing" mostly from existing investors including EQT Ventures. The funding will become available after the planned SPAC merger with Legato Merger Corp (funding details page).

Telgea (Stockholm, mobile operator for enterprises): $5M in a funding round led by Telenor Amp, with participation from node.vc, RunwayFBU, and existing investor Antler (Swedish / Breakit paywall).

Staer (Malmö, physical AI for autonomous mobile robot fleets): €3.5M ($4.1M) pre-seed funding raised last year but previously unannounced, led by Pale blue dot, with participation from LDV Capital (funding details page). Additionally, Staer already secured €4.3M for its second round, to be closed later this year (Swedish / Di Digital paywall). ➡️ pre-seed funding first covered in PRO in October 2025.

Braive (Stockholm & Oslo / NO, digital mental health platform): SEK30M (€2.8M, $3.1M) from Sven Hagströmer, existing investor The Inner Foundation, Altitude Capital, and angel investors, for the European expansion (Swedish / Di Digital paywall).

Flox (Stockholm, AI enabled technologies for wildlife management built on science): $3M seed+ round led by Tilia Impact Ventures, to accelerate deployments across North America (funding details page).

AirForestry (Uppsala, drone technology for forest thinning, founded 2020): SEK28M (€2.6M, $3.1M) pre-Series A convertible note from existing investors, led by Northzone (funding details page)

Musselfeed (Ellös, transforming blue mussels into sustainable products): SEK5.3M (€500K, $580K) from new and existing investors (Swedish / Impact Loop paywall).

• Vascurie (Uppsala, new antibody-based treatment for aggressive brain tumors): SEK4.8M (€450K, $530K) from Almi Invest, UU Invest, Beijerstiftelsen, among others (funding details page).

Veterinary Value (Helsingborg, platform helping veterinary clinics become profitable): SEK4M (€370K, $440K) from HETCH Venture, Farhult Invest, Jan Swedin, and Lars Olsson (funding details page).

Skeptiva (Västerås; proactive email security for the modern enterprise to counter social engineering): SEK1.5M (€140K, $170K) from 23 angel investors, industry experts, and CISOs, including Apotea founder Pär Svärdson, the Foreseeti founders Robert Lagerström and Joakim Nydrén, and many others (funding details page). ➡️ Fundraising covered in PRO in December. NOEX (Skövde; platform for CE marking, risk assessment and documentation): undisclosed amount in first funding from Peter Barkland (Swedish, machine translation). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO on October 13.

NEWS FROM THE SWEDISH STARTUP & TECH SECTOR


• Sweden's just unveiled AI strategy mostly won't create a country where the best builders want to stay, write Swedish founders Joel Hellermark, Johannes Schildt, Anton Osika and Fredrik Hjelm in an op-ed. And they have ideas how to fix that (English, Swedish).

• The acquisition of Northvolt's assets by US-based company Lyten has now been completed (English).

• "Gross incompetence" and "case officers with zero business acumen, incapable of understanding startups" are some of the accusations raised against the Swedish Migration Agency by the founder of Skellefteå-based indoor hydroponic farming startup Hydro Space, after his residency permit was denied, forcing him to sell the company and leave Sweden (English).

• Charlotta Tönsgård is stepping down as CEO of Migränhjälpen, to fully focus on the startup she has been building in stealth mode for a while (English). ➡️ PRO subscribers learned about that startup already in October 2023.

Kvist, Stockholm-based startup founded by serial entrepreneurs and Mathem alumni offering an AI-powered tool to create quizzes about anything in seconds, launched Kvist Classroom, aimed at teachers. ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in September 2024.

EasyScan, based in Östersund, launched an iOS and Android app that provides grocery shoppers with allergen- & preference data at the point of sale, currently covering over 300,000 products. ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in April 2025.

Everdrone, Gothenburg-based developer of drone technology for emergency response, has unveiled its new emergency drone – the company's first developed in-house (English).

Einride has sold its internal design organization to a newly formed design studio named Navisalma Design, founded by Einride co-founder Linnéa Kornehed Falck and partners (English).

• Sircular, Stockholm-based AI co-pilot for startup investors, has shut down following bankruptcy (English). ➡️ Bankruptcy first covered in PRO on January 26.

Lovable has hired the former CEO of the tech conference Slush, Aino Bergius. She will be in charge of "special projects", working at the CEO office (English).

Founders House, the talked-about hub for Stockholm’s next generation of AI unicorns, is expanding with a Finnish offshoot in Helsinki (English).

Nordic early-stage founders' average and median salaries are among the lowest in Europe, according to Creandum's fourth annual report on early-stage founder compensation (English).

The majority of industrial companies in Sweden choose to develop generative AI solutions in-house. Only 23 percent collaborate with startups, according to a new study (Swedish, machine translation).

INTERESTING THINGS FROM THE STARTUP/VC WORLD


• More startups are hitting $10M ARR in 3 months than ever before, says Stripe (English).

• The State of European Micro-Funds, report by 20VC (English).

• The switching costs in AI agents, at least in some cases, are structurally lower than what we’ve seen in SaaS before (English).

• A viral AI doomsday report shook US markets (English).

• With AI, investor loyalty is (almost) dead: At least a dozen OpenAI VCs now also back Anthropic (English).

• We are in a moment in which the AI is real and proven, but the adoption still is early. This poses challenges for founders selling to the enterprise, and investors having to make their bets (English).



OTHER INTERESTING THINGS FROM SWEDEN


• Sweden's international reputation has recovered from a few turbulent years, and is again one of the strongest in the world (Swedish).

• Around 600 employees at the Swedish police are currently piloting a custom LLM named "PolisenGPT", which runs entirely on internal servers (Swedish, machine translation).

• The Swedish government wants small children's knowledge of the Swedish language to be screened during visits to child health clinics (English).

• Restaurant owners are irritated about administrative burden due to upcoming VAT changes on food (English).

• The City of Stockholm is close to reaching a population of one million — only 761 more residents are needed (Swedish, machine translation). Some districts do not belong to the city administratively. The Greater Stockholm area of course as a way larger population.
