Nordan AI (Stockholm, AI-powered systems for trusted decisions): SEK15M (€1.4M, $1.6M) from Spotify veteran and uTorrent creator Ludvig Strigeus (Swedish / Di Digital paywall, funding details page).

Lungflex (Ljungby; developer of FlexO2, a patient-controlled valve that increases freedom and independence for users of long term oxygen therapy): undisclosed amount from Almi Invest, Media Mobility, and angel investors (Swedish, machine translation).

HI Assessments (Stockholm, assessment platform for smarter hiring & development): SEK5M (€460K, $540K) in first funding from angel investors (Swedish, funding details page). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in August 2025.

ANNA (Stockholm, app for parents of children and young people with diagnosed or suspected NPF): SEK4M (€370K, $440K) in first funding from Tommy Jacobson and Karl-Johan Persson (Swedish, funding details page).

Ahody (greater Stockholm area, editorial operating system for newsrooms): SEK3M (€280K, $330K) in first funding from Swedia Capital and Breakit co-founder Stefan Lundell (Swedish, funding details page). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in November 2025.

NEWS FROM THE SWEDISH STARTUP & TECH SECTOR


• "Swedish Startup Battle" is a little experimental tool I created for discovering Swedish tech startups, based on 4000+ companies in my database.

• The two Lovable alumni Alexander Wikström and Elliot Norrevik have unveiled Blaise, an "AI system that builds custom software for organizations, in days, for a fraction of the price of the firms it replaces". Blaise is the first product of their new research lab Swedish Superintelligence. ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO on March 2.

• Apropos: We are already seeing the formation of a "Lovable Mafia" (English).

Barnluren is a new Stockholm-based startup offering a private phone network for children, which comes with a real analogue phone for the home (English).

Spotify was founded 20 years ago (English).

Lovable's founders published a blog post apologizing how they handled and communicated a recent security-related incident (English). The company also just opened its first US office in Boston (English).

Epidemic Sound, the almost two decades old Swedish music licensing provider for creators, is expanding to "build a next-generation creative platform for modern content production". (English). As part of this transformation, Epidemic Sound will cut 150 jobs, representing around one fifth of the global workforce (Swedish / Di Digital paywall).

Einride plans to enter the defense business, and has appointed former NSA director Keith B. Alexander to its board (English).

Findity, Stockholm-based expense management platform, has launched in the US together with a partner (Swedish, machine translation).

Helsing, Germany-headquartered defense tech scaleup in which Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek is a major investor, has opened a Stockholm hub, which will serve as the operational centre for the company's Nordic activities (English).

The applications for the SSE Business Lab Summer program are open (English)

Tech Open, the main event of the Nordic Tech Week 2026, and touted "the world's largest free open-air tech conference", will take place at Stockholm's Kungsträdgården, on Sept 10-11.

Business Sweden, an initiative run by the Government and the Swedish industry, launched a program designed for Swedish startups and scaleups with international growth ambitions, that comes with a coordinated participation at up to five global tech conferences (English).

Sweden's level of enterprise AI adoption lags the other Nordic countries, according to Deloitte's just published "State of AI in the Nordics" report (English).

Sifted, the FT-owned, UK-headquartered European tech news site, is looking for a Stockholm-based reporter, who will cover the New Nordics alongside Mimi Billing (English).

Always Summer has launched, aiming to "build the Nordic's leading independent asset manager" and to fill gaps in the market. The firm is co-founded and led by former Creandum Partner Sabina Wizander (English, Swedish / Di Digital paywall).

Turbine Capital, the Stockholm-based early-stage deeptech VC fund launched a year ago with a €30M first closing, has added around SEK200M in a second closing (English).

Felicia Nordgård joined Stockholm-based consumer tech investor Bust as Partner (English).

PINC, the Stockholm-based corporate VC of Finnish family-owned food and drink company Paulig, has hired Karl Swensson as Investment Director (English).

Norrsken Evolve, Norrsken's pre-seed fund, is hiring a Finance Manager in Stockholm (English).

• SpaceX, Elon Musk's space company (which recently merged with xAI), says it has an option to buy the popular software development platform Cursor for $60B later this year (English). One of Cursor's co-founders is the Swede Arvid Lunnemark, though he left the San Francisco-based company in fall last year.

• Worldwide app releases in Q1 2026 were up 60% year-over-year across both Apple’s App Store and Google Play (English).
