Mergers & acquisitions
• Imbox, bootstrapped and profitable Gothenburg-based customer relations SaaS solution, has been acquired by Swedish investment firm Pamir. The two founders Joakim Rosén and Marcus Johansson will remain active in the company as minority owners (English).
• A+ Intelligence, a Stockholm-based youth company that offered an AI tool to help teachers with time-consuming tasks, has been acquired by Meitner (Swedish, machine translation). ➡️ A+ Intelligence first covered in PRO on February 24.
• Hypergene (Malmö, SaaS decision-support solution) has acquired Norway-based SaaS company Profitbase (Swedish, machine translation).
• Pipechain, Stockholm-based supply chain SaaS company, acquires UK-based retail-focused software company AdvanceFirst Technologies (English).
• Volvo Group subsidiary CPAC Systems, based in Gothenburg, has acquired a minority stake in Netherlands-based startup Flying Fish (English).

• Einride (Stockholm; provider of digital, electric and autonomous shipping technology): around SEK500M (€46M, $51M) convertible note from existing investors EQT Ventures and Capital Group, reportedly (English, Swedish / Breakit paywall).
• Brink Commerce (Stockholm, composable e-commerce platform designed for fast-growing brands and global retailers): €5M ($5.5M) led by Qvantea Capital (English). ➡️ PRO subscribers learned more details about this funding.
• Lignin Industries, formerly RenCom (greater Uppsala area, technology for refining forest lignin to bioplastic): €3.9M ($4.3M) led by the Carrick family, which are founders (English).
• Scandinavian Data Centers (Stockholm; builds resilient, high-capacity data centers that seamlessly integrate into a broader ecosystem): undisclosed amount in a strategic investment from the real estate company Balder (English, Swedish). ➡️ More details about this funding covered in PRO. • SENTION (Stockholm; personal and organisational health, prevention, and concierge medicine): SEK15M (€1.4M, $1.5M) from Jan Carlson, Klas Balkow, and Mia Brunell, in a first funding round (Swedish / Di Digital paywall).
• Venga (Stockholm, platform for event invites and photo sharing): €1.1M ($1.2M) in a pre-seed funding round led by Lifeline Ventures (English). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in December 2023.
• MedVasc (Lund, developer of a medical device designed to improve the anesthetic procedure when treating varicose veins): SEK10M (€920K, $1M) from unspecified existing owners and new investors (English).
• SurfCleaner (Stockholm, developer of a system that collects and separates pollutants from industrial water surfaces): SEK10M (€920K, $1M) in a bridge round from existing investors (Swedish / Impact Loop paywall).
• Ambidex (Gothenburg, software solution that balances the grid by providing industrial refrigeration systems as a flexible resource): SEK5M (€460K, $520K) led by Almi Invest (Swedish, machine translation). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in May 2023.
• Road Hero (Stockholm, AI-powered incident reporting for a safer transport sector): SEK2.3M (€210K, $230K) grant from Vinnova, for a pilot project together with The Swedish Bus and Coach Federation (Swedish, machine translation).
• Rider's Position (Uppsala, digital AI coach for equestrian riders): SEK500K (€46K, $50K) from angel investors Katrin Frick and Anna Winblad von Walter, and the founders Mari Zetterqvist Blokhuis and Charlotta Mantell. ➡️ Covered in PRO on May 15.
• Zimply (Stockholm, AI assistants for automating repetitive tasks): undisclosed amount from new investor Dahlgren Capital, which thereby becomes the largest shareholder (Swedish / Breakit paywall, Swedish #2, machine translation).

• CodeEasy, Stockholm-based AI-powered facilitation programming platform for colleges, released a tool that promises to let computer science educators "create a complete lesson, with practice problems, hints, autograding, and assessments, in minutes" (English).
• Vaja, Stockholm-based startup developing solar tracking and mounting systems founded in 2023, managed to get into the top 20 by number of filed Swedish patent applications in 2024, with 13 filings (English). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in May 2024.
• An in-depth interview with Sebastian Merlöv, a professional soldier, serial entrepreneur, and co-founder of recently launched defense tech and drone startup Sweden Dynamics, on the potential and challenges of European/Swedish defense tech (Swedish, machine translation). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO on April 14.
• The voice biometrics & transcription platform of Swedish startup Conversy is being used by Ukrainian authorities to find children abducted in the war (Swedish, machine translation).

• An upcoming book, written by Northvolt alumna Miki Lundh, promises an inside look at the rise and fall of the Swedish battery maker (Swedish, machine translation).

• Wave Ventures, Finland-headquartered Gen Z-run venture capital firm which also has a significant footprint in Sweden, announced its third fund at €7M (English).
• Creandum is seeking a Marketing Lead in Stockholm, London or Berlin (English).
• Almi Invest, the prolific state-owned VC firm, is hiring an investment manager in Karlstad (Swedish).
• A co-founder of one of Sweden's most high-profile startups is now building a "Europe-first" in the energy space.
• A startup in stealth mode aims to build Sweden's – and subsequently Europe's – future healthcare infrastructure, and to "push society towards proactive care".
• A former VC launched a startup, to "automate company and industry monitoring".
