MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS

Headwai (Stockholm, AI-powered platform for online retail that predicts which customers will drive tomorrow's profits, automatically optimizing media buying to find more of them) has been acquired by Agent Mama, a Swedish startup in the same space (English). ℹ️ Both startups covered in their earliest days in PRO.

MobiOne (Stockholm; software solutions for temperature-controlled distribution, transportation, and logistics operations) is being acquired by niche software acquirer Marathon Software (English). ➡️ Added to the Exits Database for PRO subscriber.

• The Swedish Competition Authority has given the green light for the merger of the two Swedish SaaS companies Stratsys and Hypergene (English, Swedish / Breakit paywall).

PredictMe (Linköping, AI-powered epigenetic analysis to identify early biological changes): SEK5M (€450K, $520K) in a seed funding round from Linus Gunnarson (English, ℹ️ database).

MiMove (Helsingborg, platform for searching properties for sale and rent in Spain and Portugal): SEK5M (€450K, $510K) from Sigul Invest, Rydebäck Ventures, and HETCH (English, ℹ️ database).

LivingFilters (Malmö; develops AI-designed proteins that act as biosensors and filters to capture specific molecules, substances or pathogens in water): SEK4.6M (€420K, $470K) in a pre-seed funding round led by Turbine Capital (English, ℹ️ database). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO on January 14.

Everi Labs, initially Luderi Technologies (Stockholm & San Francisco, AI-powered documentation and compliance for prosthetic & DME clinics): undisclosed amount from node.vc, Norrsken Evolve, Inception Fund, and others (English, ℹ️ database). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in June 2025.

Identione (Skellefteå; identity platform that helps trust move with people across digital and physical environments): undisclosed amount from Partnerinvest Norr and Ääkköset Oy (Swedish, ℹ️ database).

NEWS FROM THE SWEDISH STARTUP & TECH SECTOR


KTH Innovation Launch unveiled batch 23, comprising 20 startups (English). There is also a second program this time, called KTH Innovation Sprint. 10 companies were selected (English).

Abundry, a new Swedish startup co-founded by the founders of Einride, is building "the intelligence that unlocks abundant capacity across energy systems, from a single site to entire regions" (English).

Tistel, a new startup co-founded by Daniel Ek, reports almost SEK30M in revenue and a nice profit for the first year. The company is developing high-volume unmanned vehicle systems, designed for mass deployment (Swedish / Breakit paywall).

Neko Health, the Stockholm-headquartered preventive healthcare provider also co-founded by Daniel Ek, is expanding its health scan to include body composition analysis, and launches the option to let patients provide their wearable health data (English).

Stackship, a Borlänge-based sovereign cloud-like platform, is launching Circuit, an AI software builder for the public sector and regulated industries (Swedishmachine translation). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in October 2025.

Nordluft, a utility drone startup based in Stockholm, received a Swedish permit for operating advanced drone operations in forest environments (Swedishmachine translation).

Diet Doctor, the almost 20-year-old Stockholm company that offers a subscription service for low carb-centered diet advice and also the satiety-focused nutrition app Hava, is bankrupt, following "several challenging years", and a funding round that fell apart (English).

• The founders of Lovable, Legora and Tandem Health have submitted a formal request to the Swedish government calling for modernised employee stock option rules (EnglishSwedish / SvD paywall).

• On the same topic, Breakit⁠ asked three Swedish parties — Moderate Party, Social Democrats, and Centre Party — about their stance on employee stock option rules. All appear supportive of improving the framework for young growth companies (Swedish / Breakit paywall).

• Stockholm Hardware Hackathon – "Europe's biggest AI hardware competition" – will take place on July 4-5 in Stockholm, at MagasinX (English).

• Analysis of the self-inflicted crisis Sweden's publicly traded property platform Hemnet has put itself in (English).

Norrsken Launcher has closed its second fund at a hard cap of €80M, to fund around ten teams with scientist and engineering backgrounds (EnglishSwedish / Di Digital paywall). ℹ️ Database: past investments in Swedish startups

  • At similar funding and growth, AI native startups are 25% smaller; they have more engineers, denser expertise and fewer managers, according to a new working paper (English).
