• TERASi (Stockholm, high-frequency wireless solutions): €11M ($12.5M) seed funding round led by NATO Innovation Fund and Join Capital (English).

• Enginzyme (Stockholm, patented enzyme immobilisation technology for biomanufacturing): SEK75M (€6.6M, $7.6M) from new investors Lotus One Investment and Valquest Partners, and existing investors (English). ➡️ Funding covered pre-announcement in PRO on August 10.

• Spiich (Stockholm, AI sales assistant): €3M (€3.4M) seed funding round led by Ugly Duckling Ventures (English).

• Gigascan (Gothenburg, systems for three-dimensional optical quality inspection directly on production lines): €2.1M ($2.4M) in funding from Jet Investment (English).

• Klang (Helsingborg, AI notetaking for high-stakes work): SEK15M (€1.3M, $1.5M) in the company's largest funding round to date, from existing investors, led by Johan Lenander (English). Klang also announced Klang Pianissimo, an open-weight speech recognition model for Swedish (English).

• Baemingo (Stockholm, digital payments and order solutions for restaurants): SEK10M (€900K, $1M) from Supermarket, partly intended for acquisitions of smaller industry peers across Europe's fragmented market (Swedish, machine translation).

• ANNA (Stockholm, app for parents of children and young people with diagnosed or suspected NPF): SEK5M (€440K, $510K) from existing investors Tommy Jacobson and Karl-Johan Persson (Swedish, machine translation).

• Amelle (Stockholm; platform designed to help accounting firms document their general and individual risk assessments including KYC): SEK3M (€270K, $300K) in the first external funding round, from JWK redovisning and Carl Svernlöv, among others (Swedish, machine translation). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO on February 6; partial closing of this funding covered pre-announcement in PRO on July 28.

• Refinyx (Stockholm, technology for industrializing the recovery of critical materials): undisclosed amount in first funding from Qarlbo Energy. The company, founded by Northvolt alumni, officially exited stealth, and announced the acquisition of a 134-patent technology portfolio and pilot facility formerly owned by Northvolt (English). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO on April 7.

• [PRO last week] A defense tech startup which so far has avoided media coverage, raised major funding from renowned family offices.

• [PRO last week] A brand tracking platform raised yet-to-be-announced funding at the highest valuation to date.

• Freda, an agentic compliance platform founded by the Tink founders, has emerged from stealth mode, after around 18 months of building (English). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in February 2025

• Also out of stealth: Sasha, a Stockholm-based AI-powered screening tool for HR that does structured voice interviews with each candidate, and helps those hiring figure out whom they actually need. (English / STN PRO). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in January 2026.

• Lovable has crossed $600M in annual run-rate revenue (English).

• Legora has passed $200M in ARR (English).

• Swevenom, a startup based in Kalmar, provides structured and responsible access to biologically derived venom & substances. Founder Mustafa Alatrash tells how it all started – with a scorpion sting as a nine-year-old (Swedish, machine translation). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO on May 15.

• Sleipner Robotics, a robotics startup from northern Sweden, will lead a project together with partners, to develop autonomous robot systems capable of entering areas that are too dangerous or difficult for humans (Swedish, machine translation). ➡️ Startup first covered in PRO in March 2025.

• Avionero, a Malmö-based travel search and planning engine, is going public at the Spotlight Stock Market. Co-founder Lars Kristensson will be the first CEO of a listed Swedish company to sport a Mohawk hairstyle (Swedish, machine translation).

• Aima Sense, a Karlskrona-based startup that develops products that simplify the hygiene routine for women after sex, is facing huge challenges when trying to promote its products on social media: Many relevant terms, including emoji, are banned by major platforms (Swedish, machine translation).

• Grasp, the Stockholm-based AI analyst for finance, is opening a New York office, and looking for a US Managing Director (English).

• Repeat entrepreneur Erik Wahlberg has been named new CEO of Epidemic Sound (English).

• Niklas Östberg, the Swedish co-founder and CEO of Germany-headquartered local delivery platform giant Delivery Hero, has reversed his decision to step down in March 2027, amid Uber's recent takeover bid (English).

• Unions have called off a planned strike action at King, as they reached a collective bargaining agreement with the Swedish-founded, Microsoft-owned Candy Crush developer (English, Swedish).

• Norrsken Launcher is hosting an event called "Lab to Launch" on October 8 in Stockholm, to highlight how researchers build & join startups (English).

• Tatiana Shalalvand is leaving Kinnevik, and joining Cherry Ventures as Partner at the Stockholm office (English).

• byFounders has recruited Filip Landin as investor for the Stockholm office (English).

• Spiich, the AI sales assistant which just raised a €3M seed round, is hiring a "Founding Chef" – possibly a Sweden-first. The job description is a pretty amusing read (English).

• [PRO last week] A serial entrepreneur is now building a startup centred around skill-based games generated in real time.

• [PRO last week] A young Swedish repeat founder who recently relocated to San Francisco, is quietly building something in the connectivity space for software developers, and secured a remarkably valuable .com domain for it.

• [PRO last week] A trio of founders – including a longtime public figure – have launched a "fully AI-driven publishing house".

• [PRO last week] A three-year old cybersecurity startup from southern Sweden almost doubled its net revenue to over SEK150M, while generating a profit.

• YC founder Paul Graham on a favourite heuristics of his when meeting startups: "What would make this company more powerful?" (English).

• "I used to respond to every cold email but now AI slop is killing my inbox" (English). 💭 Same, though I see this a a positive thing: Now I feel much less pressure to actually respond, because I know a sender's expectation to receive a response has decreased, too.

• Sweden’s Tax Agency has decided to pause advanced plans to move its e-mail system to a US cloud service after police and other agencies have warned about security risks (English).

• TikTok Sweden increased net revenue last year by around 13.5% to SEK314.3M. The operating result (EBIT) grew to SEK78.3M (Swedish, machine translation).

• Finland, Sweden and Norway modernise underground infrastructure as Russia’s war in Ukraine revives fears of conflict on their soil (English).
